The Lumberton Historical Museum will tell the stories of the people who tamed the Big Thicket and helped grow the town of Lumberton.

The museum offers exhibits and educational opportunities for children and adults about the history and culture of our community and this place we call home.

"From the Bayou to the Creek"

Our motto, coined by our own Dr. Betty Iles.

Join us as we learn about the early settlements, neighborhoods, and towns, between Pine Island Bayou on the south end, and Village Creek to the north, that grew into today's community of Lumberton.

The Lumberton Historical Museum is located in the new Lumberton Event Center, built next to Lumberton City Hall in 2024.

The Museum is a 501(c)3) nonprofit organization and is supported by donations, memberships and grants. These funds go directly towards developing and building exhibits, as well as expenses such as rent, insurance, and furnishings.

We appreciate your support, which will help keep the Museum open with free admission for everyone.
