The Lumberton Historical Museum is officially open!

We are located in the Lumberton Event Center, Suite 113, across the parking lot from City Hall.

Our entrance and parking are located on the north side of the building, sharing a main doorway with the Hardin County Health Department.

When entering from Highway 96, you'll first see the Lumberton Chamber of Commerce. Just drive around to the north side of the building and park near our entrance.

From the Chance Cut-Off, turn in the driveway just before the Lumberton Police Department.

Ready to Visit ?

The Lumberton Historical Museum will tell the stories of the people who tamed the Big Thicket and helped grow the town of Lumberton. As you explore the Museum, you’ll find easy-to-use audio boxes and companion guides along your path to help bring our local history to life.

Join us as we learn about the frontiersmen and early settlers, who came to the area, from Pine Island Bayou on the south end, and Village Creek to the north, that grew into today's community of Lumberton.

The museum offers exhibits and educational opportunities for children and adults about the history and culture of our community and this place we call home.
